Okay, peoples . . .

I`m settled in, such as it were. Currently sitting in the way too cool internet cafe located a mere block from my apartment.

And I have more to write about than I have time and energy to write. But here`s my address and phone number in the meantime:

((no longer valid))

I think if you put all of the above information on a letter with sufficient postage it`ll get to me. But I`m not sure of the exact order it`s supposed to go in . . . Erika, you`re my reigning expert, did I get it right? Should my room number and the building go before the rest? Is Romanji okay, or do a whole bunch of people need to learn how to write kanji, or at least hiragana?

Did some exploring today. There was a festival-- the Star Festival?-- downtown, and I wandered around there. Bought taiyaki, yummy. And bought some groceries, too. Found a dry cleaner`s by very happy chance; ah, serendipity. Called my parents. Tried to restore something that resembles order to my room/apartment, which was largely a failure. But it`s improving slowly . . . wrote down that bizarre but cool dream I had the other night.

To do tomorrow: figure out how to do the laundry. Buy more hangars and laundry detergent. Find decent gifts for my two vice-principals, so that I can give everything out on Monday and not have that particularly nasty/cool piece of Japanese etiquette hanging over my head any longer.

And I should buy orange juice. My throat feels weird, and I want to stay healthy . . .

There`s an astounding amount to do in order to start a new life, but fortunately it only has to be done once.
